Vankhandeshwar Temple
Category Historic
This temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is counted among the oldest temples in India. Evidence related to history suggests that it was built by the powerful Hindu king Prithviraj Chauhan in 1175 AD. The biggest feature of this temple is the monolithic light here, which has been burning continuously for many years. The Maha Aarti is organized in this temple every Monday, with devotees from far flung areas coming to attend. A big fair is organized here every year during the Mahashivratri festival.
